Hi everyone!! We are officially back into the swing of things here. Three weeks was the perfect amount of time for a vacation. We spent 1 week in Washington with Aaron's dad. He has a charming farmhouse with 20 acres. Purrrrfect for homesteading! Its so quaint and adorable. We spent St Patricks day in Seattle crammed into a tiny pub listening to live music and having some drinks. We then went to Northern Oklahoma to stay with my dad for 2 weeks. It was rainy the first few days and then beautifully warm weather the rest of the time! We went to the zoo, aquarium, salt plains, and Amelia spent almost every waking hour outside barefoot! She is having a hard time not being able to just open the screen door and go outside to play like she could at Papa's. My dad lives in my grandparents house as of last year when my grandpa passed away. My grandma was always gardening and her yard looked so fabulous! Well during repairs to the house, and lack of time the gardens were overgrown. Aaron and I spent the last 3 days cleaning, fertilizing, planting, and sowing 8 garden beds. All the rocks you see in the photos were actually in the flower beds too! My grandpa and his dad were huge collectors and my great grandpa made a living from making jewelry and furniture from stone pieces. Now my dad has TONS of rock to worth through. :) Bahaha. We planted tall decorative grasses along the shed, with lavender seeds in-between. Lavender will help keep flies and moths away, which are a big nuisance in the summer there. I'm happy with it and can't wait to see update photos from my dad of all the plants growing!
Sorry this post is all over the place, I'm still unpacking, and my classes started up again today!
